Scaling an esports final to 2.1M concurrent viewers
Client: Apex Esports Federation
- 2.1M
- peak concurrent viewers
- 0
- dropped frames on the world feed
- 11
- distribution platforms served
The challenge
The federation needed an arena-scale final with zero spoiler leakage across a 90-second competition delay, 40 player POVs, and a broadcast that could survive a full venue network outage.
The signal path we designed
Designed a dual-gallery architecture: an on-site gallery cutting the arena show and a REMI gallery producing the world feed behind the competition delay.
Built an observer plan per map with dedicated POV ingest at 240 fps, synced to in-game data for automated HUD overlays.
Provisioned bonded fibre plus satellite backup with automatic failover, rehearsed with a deliberate venue network kill during the dress rehearsal.
“Hyperlax ran our final like a space launch. Every failure we imagined, they had already rehearsed.”
