An LED volume solves backgrounds and creates a new problem: your set now emits light. That is a gift — free interactive lighting that matches the environment — and a trap, because pixels are not designed to flatter skin.

Keep key light physical. The wall gives you ambience and reflections; it should rarely be the key. A soft physical key at a believable angle sells the composite more than any render tweak.

Watch the spectrum, not just the level. LED walls have spiky spectra that can shift skin tones subtly. We profile every wall against our camera chains and build correction LUTs before talent ever steps on stage.

And genlock everything — wall, tracking and camera — or no amount of lighting will save you from shear and flicker.
